Cleaning the needle carriage foot

The user can clean the needle carriage foot periodically to avoid sample manager errors.

When the needle carriage foot is sticky, it can pull vials out of the plate after injection, causing a sample manager error.

To clean the needle carriage foot:

1. Move the sample needle into service position:
   1. For systems version 1.3 and earlier, tap MAINTAIN > Calibrate Axes > Calibrate B-Θ-Axes and follow the on-screen prompts until Moving to service position appears on the screen.
   2. For systems version 1.4 or 1.4.1, tap MAINTAIN > Service > Prepare to Replace the Needle.
   3. For systems version 2.0 and later, tap MAINTAIN > Replace Components > Replace Needle, follow the on-screen prompts and tap START.
      A message appears indicating that the needle is now in position for replacement.
2. Clean the needle carriage foot with compatible solvent to ensure sticky residue is removed.
   Note: Clean the needle carriage foot periodically, especially if you are testing sugar samples.

3. Tap CANCEL.
