Determining who is signed in to the system
Topic LCI-USG-0242, Last Updated 11/21/2025

System users can determine which user is currently signed in to the system.

Alliance iS HPLC system users (systems with the Empower Authentication feature enabled) can use the touchscreen to determine who is signed in to the system. All auditable system events are attributed to that user. See Alliance iS HPLC system audit trail and Audit trail information in Empower.

Note: When the Empower Authentication feature is disabled, the user can still perform the same action to see that "guest" is signed in to the system. However, events in the system log are attributed to "unknown" and no system audit trail logs are generated.

To determine which user is signed in to the system:

Tap the user icon at the top of the screen.
The current user's Empower ID is displayed.
