Running the startup workflow

The system has a startup workflow to prepare the system for use.

Users can run the system startup workflow from the touchscreen or from the console. The startup workflow primes all solvents, primes the needle wash and seal wash, primes the sample metering pump, and allows the user to specify the solvent composition, flow rate, column and sample temperatures, and duration of equilibration.

1. To run the startup workflow from the touchscreen , tap SETUP > Startup and follow the remaining on-screen prompts to complete the next steps. Actions include:
   • Selecting which solvents to prime and priming duration
   • Selecting seal wash and needle wash priming settings
   • Selecting sample metering pump priming settings
   • Setting solvent composition
   • Specifying sample and column compartment temperature settings
   • Setting lamp state
   • Setting final conditions and flow rate
   • Selecting equilibration settings
   1. Review the summary page and then tap START.
      The screen displays System Startup In Progress. When the startup workflow completes, the screen displays System Startup Complete.
   2. Tap DONE.
2. To run the startup workflow from the console (traditional mode) , click Setup, and then click the left-hand side of the Startup Workflow card. Click Start, and then follow the remaining on-screen prompts to complete the next steps. Actions include:
   • Selecting which solvents to prime and priming duration
   • Selecting seal wash and needle wash priming settings
   • Selecting sample metering pump priming settings
   • Setting solvent composition
   • Specifying sample and column compartment temperature settings
   • Setting lamp state
   • Setting final conditions and flow rate
   • Selecting equilibration settings
   1. Review the summary page, and then click Start.
      The screen displays System Startup In Progress. When the startup workflow completes, the screen displays System Startup Complete.
   2. Click Done.
3. To run the startup workflow from the console (express mode) , click Setup, and then click the play button on the right-hand side of the Startup Workflow card. The summary page appears showing the last selected settings (or default settings upon first system startup).
   1. Optionally, click Cancel to exit the workflow before it begins, or click Back to adjust the workflow settings. After a ten-second countdown, the workflow runs automatically.
   2. Click Done.
