Signing in and out with the Empower Authentication feature enabled

If the Empower Authentication feature is enabled, users need to sign in before using the system.

To sign in with the Empower Authentication feature enabled:

1. From the Alliance iS HPLC system lock screen, swipe up.
2. Follow the on-screen prompts to:
   • Type your Empower username and password
   • Select a database (when available)

   Note: To minimize typing on the touchscreen, up to 20 most recently used usernames are maintained by the system. You can select your Empower username from this list or tap plus and follow the on-screen prompts to add your username.
3. Tap SIGN IN.
   Note: The plus button is disabled when the list reaches the maximum number of names. To add your Empower username, you first have to remove one or more usernames from the list. Select a name and tap minus to delete it.
4. To sign out from the system, tap the user icon at the top of the screen and then tap SIGN OUT.
   Note: System users are signed out automatically if the system is inactive for a preset amount of time.
