Adding digital notes

Users can add digital notes to the system via the touchscreen or the console.

Alliance iS HPLC systems version 2.0 and later users can add up to four digital notes to the system that are accessible by all system users.

Note: Digital notes created on the Alliance iS HPLC system are also visible through the Alliance iS HPLC System console in Empower and vice versa.

To add a digital note:

  1. To add a digital note from the touchscreen:
    1. From the Home screen, tap NOTES.
    2. Tap Add or Edit Notes > NEW NOTE.
    3. To add a preset note, tap one of the notes in the Preset notes list. Follow the on-screen prompts to set the expiration date and expiration time for the note, and then tap DONE.
    4. Tap SETTINGS, and then follow the on-screen prompts to select note display color and to add notes to the system log.
      Note: Notes added to the system log are also recorded in the Empower System Audit Trail if the system audit trail option is enabled. See Audit trail information in Empower.
    5. To add a custom note, tap Custom notes, and then tap the add button . Use the touchscreen to add the note (up to 100 characters), and then tap DONE. Follow the on-screen prompts to set the expiration date and expiration time for the note, and then tap DONE.
  2. To add a digital note from the console:
    1. Click the notes icon on the top right of the screen and click Add or Edit Notes.
    2. Click Add New Note. Type the note text, set the expiration date and time, and click Save.
    3. Click Settings, and then follow the on-screen prompts to select note display color and to add notes to the system log.
      Note: Notes added to the system log are also recorded in the Empower System Audit Trail if the system audit trail option is enabled. See Audit trail information in Empower.
