In this tip, we will explore the Report Publisher window. We can modify existing Report Methods and create new Report Methods in the Report Publisher window. (Please Note: We will cover these in upcoming tips in this series) Let’s first understand some of the functionality within the Report Publisher window.
STEP 1 To begin, Click the ‘Close tool’ in the Preview window. This will bring you to the Report Publisher window. There are several important tools to keep in mind, i.e., Main Page View, Header/Footer View, and Print Preview. Selecting ‘Print Preview’ takes you back to the Preview window.
The Main Page View has two important areas: The Report Method layout on the right and the list of Report Groups on the left.
There is a shortcut to finding a group or field of interest using the F3 key. As an example. Click on something in the list and press the ‘F3 key’. When the ‘Find Report Group/Field’ dialogue box opens, type in the first few letters of what you are looking for and Click ‘Find Next’. Continue to Click ‘Find Next’ to find all items beginning with the selected letters or words.
The Header/Footer View allows you to add headers and footers to the Report Method.
Right click in the white space on either the Main Page or Header/Footer View and select ‘Method Properties’. Within this dialogue box, change the report type and enable the electronic sign off feature. (Please Note: We will cover both in upcoming tips in this series).
