In this tip, we will learn how to modify the peaks table group. While there are many parameters within the peaks table group that could be modified, there are some basic parameters that may need modification such as adding additional fields.
STEP 1 In the Report Publisher window, right-click within the peaks table and select ‘Table Properties’. The Table tab displays the fields of information currently displayed in the table.
You can REMOVE FIELDS by clicking on the field name and then clicking the ‘<<’ button which is to the left of the table.
You can ADD FIELDS by expanding one of the groups in the list. Click ‘+’ next to a desired group, such as Peak. Next, select a field and click & drag the field to the desired location. In this case, ‘Peak Codes’.
In this step, you are also adding the ‘USP Plate Count’ and ‘USP Tailing’ from System Suitability Peak.
Click ‘OK’ to the Table Properties and click ‘Print Preview’ to view the changes. You will notice that the table has been split into several pieces and you may want to adjust how the numerical values are displayed.
You can modify field properties back in the Table Properties. Highlight the field and click ‘Column Properties’. Here you see the name of the field, the precision, and the use of exponential notation.
You can reduce the width of the field by clicking between the word ‘USP and Plate’ followed by clicking ‘enter’. Plate Count is typically displayed as a whole number. Reduce the precision to ‘0’ and turn off exponential notation. Click ‘OK’ to the column properties.
Click the ‘Peaks’ tab to select which types of peaks you want reported in the table.
Click the ‘Fonts’ tab. You may notice in figure 5 that the peak name and USP Tailing value for Acetone were in red, bold, italicized font. That selection is made under Faulted Data. Question: Why are these fields in red, bold, italicized font?
You can enlarge the table width to accommodate more fields by clicking on one of the small black boxes found around the perimeter and holding down the left mouse button, enlarge the box horizontally.
Back in the Print Preview, you see an improved peak table.
It’s that easy!
This procedure can be followed using the QuickStart or Pro interface.
