Empower Tip: User Privileges

Empower Tip: User Privileges

Tip #396: User Privileges on the Methods Tab (Part 2)

Tip #396: User Privileges on the Methods Tab (Part 2)

In this tip, we take a closer look at three User privileges on the Methods Tab.

Let’s review.

STEP 1

STEP 1

The three privileges we will discuss are Save Calibration Curves, Save Results, and Save Results and Calibrations in Review.

STEP 2

STEP 2

If a User has all three privileges enabled, that user can process data from the Project window, e.g. right click on a Sample Set and select Process.

Or bring data into Review, open a Method Set, apply the Method Set to each injection, and then save all the Results.

In both scenarios, the Calibration Curves would be saved along with the Results.

STEP 3

STEP 3

As a side note, if you Process the Sample Set from the Project window the Results will be associated with a Result Set. If you Process in Review, the Results will not be associated with a Result Set and will be flagged as manually generated.

STEP 4

STEP 4

What happens if a User has the Save Results privilege enabled but does not have the Save Results and Calibrations in Review privilege enabled? The User will be able to process data from the Project window, however, they will not be able to save any Results in the Review window.

STEP 5

STEP 5

What happens if a User does not have the Save Results privilege enabled but has the Save Results and Calibrations in Review privilege enabled? The User cannot generate Results from the Project Window.

However, they would be able to save Calibration Curves in the Review window.

STEP 6

STEP 6

Furthermore, if the User does not have the Save Results privilege nor the Save Calibration Curves privilege enabled, the User would not be able to save any Results not any Calibration Curves in the Review window.

It’s that easy!
