In this tip, we will discuss collecting SEC-MALS data. This example includes Wyatt DAWN™ multi-angle light scattering (MALS) detector and an Optilab™ Refractive Index (dRI) detector.
Let’s get started.
Open the Run Samples window.
Populate the following fields for each row and once complete, select File, Save Sample Set Method As, enter a name and click Save:
Plate/Well
Injection Volume in microliters
Number of Injections
Sample Name
Function
Inject Monodisperse for an isotropic standard which is used for Normalizing the MALS detector and correcting for band broadening & detector offset.
Inject SEC-MALS Samples for samples such as peptides, proteins and mAbs.

Processing
Run Time
Once the system is equilibrated click the green Run tool in the toolbar. Empower will prompt you for a Sample Set Name. Enter the name and click Run.
Once the data has been acquired, the Sample Set Complete message will appear in the lower right corner of the Run Samples window.
