Tip #313: Featured Empower User Question

Tip #313: Featured Empower User Question

This week, I would like to feature a recent question I received.

QUESTION:

We are running a method collecting two wavelengths per injection from a PDA and we want Empower to identify the channel with the higher peak response and report the higher value. How is that done?

For this example, I selected data and derived 240nm and 280nm from the 3D PDA Channel.

STEP 1

STEP 1

Create a simple peak, intersample Custom Field to calculate the ratio of the responses between the peaks in channel 1 to channel 2.

STEP 2:

Create a simple Custom Peak field to report the channel with the higher response.

STEP 3

STEP 3

Finally, create a Custom Peak field to report the larger response. Here is the full equation which is cut off in the screen capture:

LT(Reposne_Ratio,1)*(SAME.1.280nm(Area))+GT(Reposne_Ratio,1)*(SAME.1.240nm(Area))

STEP 4

STEP 4

An example result is provided.

It’s that easy!

Final Notes

This can be done with either the Pro or QuickStart interface.
