In this tip for Empower Chromatography Data System (CDS), we will answer an Empower user question.
QUESTION:
How does Empower calculate the %Deviation for points in the calibration curve table?
The answer depends on how a particular System Policy is set.
There is a System Policy titled “Calculate % Deviation of Point From Curve”, found on the Data Processing tab in System Policies. By default, that System Policy is NOT enabled.
STEP 2:
When the policy is NOT enabled the % Deviation is calculated as seen in figure 2.
If we look at the first point on the calibration curve, this results in a % Deviation of -6.542.
What happens when the System Policy IS enabled?
When the policy IS enabled the % Deviation is calculated as seen in figure 5.
In this case, the first point on the calibration cures results in a % Deviation of 7.000.
It’s that easy!
Both Tangential and Exponential Skims can skim a rider either from the front of the main peak or the back of the main peak.
This can be done with either the Pro or QuickStart interface.
