This week we will look at some of the User Privileges on the Management tab.
NOTE: the screen captures in this tip were obtained with Empower version 3.8.0.
Let’s review.
The extensive list of privileges on the Management tab is related to creating, altering and/or deleting objects that live in Configuration Manager. For this tip, I have opened the properties of the User Type ‘Lab Manager’.
For the first example, let’s consider Custom Fields. The privileges associated with Custom Fields are as follows:
Create Custom Fields, Alter Custom Fields, Lock Custom Fields, Unlock Custom Fields, and Delete Custom Fields
In the second example, we see privileges around managing Default Strings:
Alter Default Strings, Create Default Strings, and Delete Default Strings
In the third example, we see the privileges for managing Projects:
Backup Projects, Create Projects, Access All Projects, Create Projects at the Root, Delete Projects, Restore Projects, Modify Backup Options, Change Project Parent, Lock Projects, Unlock Projects, Change Project Owner, Create Project Path, Change Project Path, Specify Project Path, View Multiple Projects, View Project Audit Trails, Allow Shallow Copies of FAT Projects, and Alter Project Type
A few other privileges include working with Users, User Types, User Groups, Systems, and Nodes.
It’s that easy!
