Empower Tip: Empower CDS User Question

In this tip for Empower Chromatography Data System (CDS), we will answer an Empower user question regarding the Distribution table when performing GPC/SEC.

Question: How can I automatically calculate the percent areas of specific molecular weight slice ranges from the distribution table?

The example submitted had six ranges.

Create one peak Custom Field to calculate the % Area per slice range.

The expanded formula is shown as entered. Depending on how many ranges you want to be calculated, you could use the CConst fields found on the slicing tab of the Processing Method.

Finally, add these fields to the report. In this example, I created three custom fields for three ranges and the values add up to 100 as they should.
