Tip #321: Calculating the %Deviation for Points in the Calibration Curve Table

Tip #321: Calculating the %Deviation for Points in the Calibration Curve Table

In this tip for Empower Chromatography Data System (CDS)we will answer an Empower user question.

QUESTION:

How does Empower calculate the %Deviation for points in the calibration curve table?

The answer depends on how a particular System Policy is set.

STEP 1

STEP 1

There is a System Policy titled “Calculate % Deviation of Point From Curve”, found on the Data Processing tab in System Policies. By default, that System Policy is NOT enabled.

STEP 2:

When the policy is NOT enabled the % Deviation is calculated as seen in figure 2.

STEP 3

STEP 3

If we look at the first point on the calibration curve, this results in a % Deviation of -6.542.

STEP 4

STEP 4

What happens when the System Policy IS enabled?

STEP 5

STEP 5

When the policy IS enabled the % Deviation is calculated as seen in figure 5.

STEP 6

STEP 6

In this case, the first point on the calibration cures results in a % Deviation of 7.000.

It’s that easy!

Final Notes

Both Tangential and Exponential Skims can skim a rider either from the front of the main peak or the back of the main peak.

This can be done with either the Pro or QuickStart interface.
