Empower Tip: Empower 3.8.0

In this tip, we learn about how to take an existing Instrument Method and “translate” it to an Alliance iS Instrument Method. This can be done with Empower 3 FR4 with Windows 10 through and including Empower 3.8.0. The included toolkit application translates Alliance™, ACQUITY Arc™, Arc™ HPLC, and Agilent instrument methods for certain modules.

Let’s see how it’s done!

STEP 1Open the project of interest and from the Application menu, select ‘Method Translator’.

STEP 2Click the Instrument Methods list.

STEP 3Select an Instrument Method, and select ‘Translate and Save’.

STEP 4Give the translated Instrument Method a name, enter the appropriate comments, and click ‘Save Method’.

STEP 5Click ‘Report’ to generate a PDF report of the Instrument Method.
