Empower Tip: System Policies

In this tip, we will begin a discussion on Result Sign Off System Policies. NOTE: you need the Alter System Policies privilege to make any changes to System Policies.

Let’s see how it’s done!

In the Configuration Manager window, select View > System Policies. Click on the Result Sign Off tab.

Let’s look at some of the System Policies and what happens when they are enabled:

Sign Off Inactivity Delay – if a user enters their username and password in the Sign Off dialogue box and the time entered in the Sign Off Inactivity Delay field is exceeded, the Sign Off dialogue box will close.

Clear Password after Sign Off – if a user signs off, Empower clears their password.

Enforce Single Logon for Sign Off – users must be logged into only one computer to sign off.

Allow ‘Lock Channels’ after Sign Off 2 – a user can lock the channels after Sign Off 2 preventing any further results from being generated for those channels.

Save report image (as PDF) after Sign Off – after Sign Off, the report is saved as a PDF. Following Sign Off, go to the Sign Off tab in the project window and right-click on a row. Select Report Viewer. The report opens as a PDF. You must have the PDF reader installed for this to work.
