Tip #413: Configuring Empower for ALCOA++ | Legible

In this tip, we learn how to configure Empower for Legible.

Legible means that the data is legible and permanent; it includes use of secure, time stamped audit trails. (Note: I recommend reading Tip 411 before reading this tip)

Let’s see how it’s done!

Things to consider:

Set New Project Audit Trail System Policies:

Full Audit Trail Support enabled

Changes to GXP data need a reason

Silent – no comment required

Unrestricted – enter free text

Restricted – select from a list of reasons which are Default Strings

Confirm Identity forces reauthentication before the action occurs

As set, ALL projects will be audit trailed with no option to create a new project without audit trail:

For the System Audit Trail:

Items not used or not directly impacting GxP do not have to have a reason

Can be useful for system management to record reasons around Systems, Nodes, Users, User Types and so forth

Highest risk items may need reauthentication

Note: these settings can be made in System Policies in Configuration Manager.
