Empower Tip: System Policies

In this tip, we will continue our discussion on Data Processing System Policies. These system policies define the type of technique that Empower uses to process data. Remember that you need the Alter System Policies privilege to make any changes to System Policies.

Let’s see how it’s done!

In the Configuration Manager window, select View > System Policies. Click on the Data Processing tab.

In this tip, we will concentrate on Data Processing Technique.

Allow the use of Apex Track Integration – if enabled, this allows the use of Apex Track in the database. If this is disabled, then the Traditional algorithm for peak detection and integration will be the only one available.

Under Default Settings Used When Creating New Projects, Enable Apex Track Integration – if enabled, this allows the use of Apex Track in new projects. If this is disabled, then the Traditional algorithm for peak detection and integration will be the only one available.

Also, under Default Setting Used When Creating New Projects, Default Integration Algorithm – select which algorithm will be the default in a new project.

Regardless of which algorithm is the default (as per Step 5), you can select the other algorithm when creating a new Processing Method.
