In this tip, we will continue our discussion on Result Sign Off System Policies. NOTE: you need the Alter System Policies privilege to make any changes to System Policies.
Let’s see how it’s done!
In the Configuration Manager window – select View > System Policies. Click on the Result Sign Off tab. Let’s look at the remaining System Policies on this tab.
Require Sign Off 1 and Sign Off 2 by Different Users – if enabled, two different Users will be needed to complete Sign Off 1 and Sign Off 2. A potential scenario could be the person who generates the results performs a Sign Off 1 and the data reviewer performs a Sign Off 2. This will depend on the SOP in your laboratory.
Multiple Sign Off Behavior – if a user signs off more than once on a result, this policy specifies whether that user can use the same reason or be required to select a different reason.
Enforce Sign Off 1 before Sign Off 2 – if enabled, Sign Off 1 will be required before someone can Sign Off at level 2. Furthermore, when enabling this system policy, you can select one or more valid reasons for Sign Off 1.
Allow ‘Mark Audit Trail Records as Reviewed’ at Sign Off 2 – if enabled the Mark Audit Trail Records as reviewed check box is available in the Sign Off Results dialogue box at Sign Off 2.
NOTE: to perform this step, you must have the View Project Audit Trail privilege and the Sign Off Level 2 privilege.
It’s that easy!
