Empower Tip: Audit Trails

In this tip, we look at Method Audit Trails which keeps track of changes to and versioning of the methods in Empower. Each method has its unique audit trail.

Note: You require the View Project Audit Trails privilege to proceed.

Let’s see how it’s done!

We can add Method Version to the Methods table in the Project window. We see that some methods have multiple versions.

To view the audit trail records associated with this method, right-click on the method and select View As > Audit Records.

This takes us to the Audit Trails tab and displays information regarding when each version was created and who created them.

To get details about the differences between the versions, right-click on the method and select Method Properties.

The Method Properties window opens, and you can view information in more detail once you scroll to the right. Some buttons below the table are helpful as well.

For example, highlight both versions of the method and click the Differences button.

In the Method Differences window, click the “Show all or only differences” button to highlight just the differences between the two versions. In this example, we see that in version 2 a Lower Error Limit for Plate Number was added.

This Method Differences can be added to a Report Method as well.
