In this tip, we will answer an Empower user question on User privileges.

QUESTION:

When Review is open, can you drag and drop channels of the same Channel type into Review?

Good question. The answer is yes.

Once Review is open, you can drag and drop channels of the same Channel type into Review. This eliminates the need to close Review, select more channels, and then reopen Review. If you are unable to execute this function, you might not have the necessary privilege enabled. Let’s first look at how this is done and then highlight the privilege needed.

Let’s get started.

Take a Channel into Review and click on either the 2D Channels or 3D Channels tab, depending on the type of data you are working with.

Click on the Project and size it to see Review in the background. Click and drag a second channel of interest from the Project window to the 2D Channels or 3D Channels table in Review.

STEP 3You can now overlay the Channels.

You cannot mix data types in Review. For example, if you view a Channel of data and try to drag and drop a Result into Review, you will see a warning message.

To be able to carry this out you must have the Copy To Projects privilege enabled. This privilege is found on the Methods tab of the User Type properties.
