Empower Tip: Exception Focused Review

In this tip for Empower Chromatography Data System (CDS), we will continue our series on Exception Focused Review.

In this tip, we will review how to ensure all samples in a Result Set are from the same Sample Set.

Create a Result Custom Field, data type Boolean. If the average Sample Set ID equals the Sample Set ID, then the Custom Field will return ‘OK’. If one or more samples have a different Sample Set ID, the Custom Field will return ‘INCONSISTENT’.

The returned value for Custom Field can be viewed in the Chromatogram Result table in the Results window within Review. You can see the results for both the Instrument Method field created in the last tip and the new one described in Step 1.

You can create a View Filter on the Results tab of the project window to include both Custom Fields. This shows that all samples in this Sample Set were collected with the same Instrument Method and all samples came from the same Sample Set.
