In this tip, I will answer a question from an Empower User.
QUESTION:
I want to use Curve Reference to quantitate a component which is in a different channel from the standard. I am using a QDA – how can I do this?
Good question. Let’s see how it’s done!
There are two components in the sample: ‘A’ which is from SIR Channel 1 and ‘B’ which is from SIR Channel 2. We want to quantitate ‘B’ using the calibration curve for ‘A’, hence the use of the Curve Reference field. Be sure to populate the Channel field in the Components table of the Processing Method.
The channel table in the Method Set specifies the channels to be processed with the associated Processing Method.
Component ‘B’ has been quantitated in the sample.
If I highlight component ‘B’ and go to the Calibration Curve window, a message pops up indicating the use of Curve Reference.
Once I click OK to the message seen in figure 4, I see the Calibration Curve for component ‘A’.
It’s that easy!
